Linguistic Diversity of Costa Rica / Languages of Costa Rica
At present, Costa Rican linguistic diversity is made up of seven Indo-American languages with many different states of vitality according to the village (Sánchez 2009, 2013, 2014): The bribri, spoken in the canton of Talamanca, province of Limón, and in the canton of Buenos Aires, province of Puntarenas. The Buglere (also known in academic publications as bocotá or guaymi sabanero), spoken in the south of the country, in the province of Puntarenas.
